In June 2020, as the world entered a frightening new reality, I began a series which imagined the aftermath of an unnamed apocalyptic event. Based in part on my reading about the collapse of the Iron Age, which scholars believe was the result of political uprisings, trade routes cut off, and most sobering, a plague, COLLAPSE has an uneasy kinship to our own dystopian present. And like the coronavirus pandemic, it shows how vulnerable we are despite our modernity.
